Harbour Tugboat Assistance

With a fleet of tugs with various types of propulsion, FAIRPLAY can offer the right tug for assistance in any location. FAIRPLAY tugboats are in operation in Hamburg, the Elbe ports of Wedel and Stade, Bremen, Bremerhaven, Brake, Nordenham, Wilhelmshaven, the Baltic ports of Rostock, Wismar, Stralsund, Wolgast, Mukran/Sassnitz, Lubmin, the Benelux ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp, Terneuzen, Ghent and Flushing, the Polish ports of Szczecin, Świnoujście and Gdynia. Offshore / Deep Sea Towage

With the oil and gas industry and the renewable energies sector as an anchor for our offshore activities, we are making an important contribution to Europe’s energy supply in various projects. FAIRPLAY is and remains our motto, even on the high seas. Whether for several days, several weeks or even months, our experienced crews ensure the successful completion of even the most challenging offshore assignments. We can reliably move oil drilling platforms for you, tow your docks and even lifting platforms for offshore wind energy.

Ocean-Going Ship Assistance

Our tugs have been in service for over 100 years. Our versatile, modern fleet assists the big ships in 23 ports throughout Europe. All around the clock we provide assistance to ships as they arrive and depart. We assist with manoeuvring in the harbour basin and with mooring. Whether Schottel-ASD (azimuth stern drive), tractor-hybrid, sea-going tug, pusher boat etc. – as our tugs have different drive types, we can offer the right tug at the right place.

Coastal Towage

As the size of ships is constantly increasing, it is simply not possible for large ships to navigate in coastal waters without the assistance of powerful and highly maneuvrable tugs. We bring your ships safely from A to B. Many of our powerful tugs are equipped for coastal towing.

Coastal Protection

FAIRPLAY is a founding member of the Coast Protection group which was set up in September 2001 in Germany. Currently, the group provides the German government with three of the most modern emergency tugboats. Their task is to help ships in distress and to prevent damage to the environment. From September 2010 the BALTIC stationed at Rostock-Warnemünde and the FAIRPLAY-35 stationed in Stade have operated in the Baltic Sea. Since 2011, the NORDIC has been providing coastal protection in the German Bight as an emergency tug stationed at sea.

Pontoon Transport

FAIRPLAY TOWAGE GROUP has stationed pusher boats in Polish ports to be able to move pontoons, barges and other vessels. These pusher boats work regularly on various maritime building sites in Świnoujście and Szczecin. Due to their very low draught of only 1.20 metres, these 770 hp vessels can also work in very shallow water.

Assistance for LNG Terminals

As the FAIRPLAY TOWAGE Group, we support demanding LNG projects and contribute to Europe’s energy independence. Our trained experts and modern tugboats ensure safe mooring at LNG terminals in Germany and Poland.

Through long-term contracts at floating LNG terminals in Brunsbüttel, Stade, and Wilhelmshaven, we play a vital role in Germany’s LNG logistics, ensuring secure supply for millions of households. This project, launched on January 1, 2024, highlights FAIRPLAY’s commitment to quality, innovation, and transformation.

Salvage

Safety along the German coast. We will be on the spot within a very short time to help ships in distress. Our fleet has acquired its many years of experience in numerous salvage operations worldwide.

Theodor Buschmann Werft

As a renowned Hamburg shipyard, Theodor Buschmann Werft has been dedicated to the diverse tasks in the maritime world since 1882. What the Hamburg shipbuilder Johann Thomas Theodor Buschmann successfully started back then is continued today with unbridled passion and an extended range of services. Distinctive expertise and the traditionally high quality standards convince customers from new shipbuilding to conversions and repairs to steel and hydraulic engineering.

Media and Event C hartering

Our tugs are not only in demand for maritime operations but also provide the perfect setting for film and TV productions. Whether filming on board, capturing dynamic water-based shots, or supporting logistics, we offer flexible solutions for stunning visuals.

In addition, our tugs are available for special events on the water. From positioning floating platforms for shows and fireworks to moving barges or even staging a tugboat ballet – we ensure seamless execution.
